On May 18, Travis Barker's new label, La Salle Records, will drop its very first release in the form of the debut LP from The Kinison. Distributed through Atlantic, La Salle Records is also planning the fall release of albums from The Nervous Return and Barker's own Transplants. "I wanted to put out great music," states Barker.? "What artist wouldn't want to help another artist with creative freedom?? I saw The Nervous Return four years ago and they were the reason I started a label in the first place.? I saw The Kinison in a club in Riverside, CA three years ago and it's the best live band I've seen in five years."
The Kinison will support their debut, What Are You Listening To?, later this month when they hit the road for an 18-date tour with The Bronx, Everytime I Die, and Evergreen Terrace. The trek kicks off May 13 in Augusta, ME and wraps up on May 29 in Erie, PA, hitting mostly secondary markets along the way. The band is also slated to perform on select dates at this year's Warped Tour, beginning August 7 in New York City.
The Nervous Return just finished recording their forthcoming album and will be appearing at the side stage of the No Doubt/Blink 182 tour this summer. The Transplants will begin recording their second album in the next month or so and vow not to license any songs to really lame, woman's hair spray commercials this time around.
