Yes, it's actually true. Somehow, between studying for his role as Jimi Hendrix in a forthcoming Hughes brothers film, appearing in the sequel to Get Shorty (Be Cool) and working on new music, OutKast's Andre 3000 is finding time to develop a potential animated series for the Cartoon Network. Currently, the rapper/singer/actor is hashing out ideas for a half-hour special to air during the Cartoon Network's "Adult Swim" program block. The network's senior VP of "Adult Swim," Mike Lazzo, told the Hollywood Reporter he quickly got over his reservations about working with celebs after meeting Andre, saying, "I'm extremely wary of it, but in Andre's case, I think he is a creative genius. He has definite opinions of what he likes visually."
The special is still in the early stages of development but will likely be centered around Andre's life, although it could possibly feature his guitar playing, "Hey Ya!" video-starring alter-ego Johnny Vulture. The show will, of course, have a musical component that Andre will contribute original music to. What can't this guy do?
