John Leckie, Stephen Street Roped In For New Order Knob-Twiddling

Looks like New Order got sick of waiting eight years between albums and is looking to follow up 2001ís Get Ready a litlle more quickly than that record followed up 1993ís Republic. In order to ramp up this process, the seminal Manchester synth poppers have brought in two heavyweights from the production side. John Leckie (Stone Roses, Radiohead) and Stephen Street (Smiths, Morrissey, Blur) will be working, albeit separately, on the new record. No timetable has been announced, of course, but if the album comes out next year, thatís much better than 2009Ö
