Bush frontman turned solo artist Gavin Rossdale has 14 songs in the can for his as-yet-untitled debut album. The record is being produced by Helmet frontman Page Hamilton, who is also lending guitar and songwriting assistance. Hamilton told Billboard, "I think people are going to be excited and surprised when they hear it. To take nothing away from Bush -- they did what they did -- but they weren't the tightest band in the world. It was pretty much about Gavin's voice, so that's what we focused on. I tried to strip the arrangements down, cut the fat and make things exciting. I really think we succeeded."
Hamilton continued to say, "It's not bragging but I think it's going to be the best album he's ever made." Rossdale and Hamilton have plans to record three more songs in New York during the month of August with hopes of setting a release date before the end of the year via Interscope. We'll keep you posted as to their progress.
