Go Go Gadget Pop

A taster from Age Of Jetsí debut long player was released a few months back in ìRPM.î That futuristic jam, complete with its ìcomputers write letters, they help us to communicateî lyric, features on Go Go Gadget Pop, the full-length from the aforementioned Age of Jets. The five-piece indie rock outfit from Hull in the UK has made quite an interesting record in Go Go Gadget Pop. Sometimes coming across as Blur when they are weirding out or a lo-fi Gary Numan or Bis without the shouting, Age Of Jets like blending bleeps synths and computer noise with indie rock arrangements. Then, on top of the computer noises, they like to sing about all that is futuristic, as in ìRPMî above, and on ìRobotmanî talking about Silicon Valley exploding and the feelings of robots. These upstarts may be just merging onto the musical superhighway but it sounds like they have a good idea of who they are and where they want to get to. Chances are itíll involve computersÖ
