According to Associated Press reports, and unfinished copy of U2's forthcoming album "disappeared" from a photo shoot in the South of France on Tuesday. Not due out until November, the as-yet-untitled CD was nabbed while the band was in Nice having pictures taken for the album cover. Police questioned about 20 people who were in attendance during the shoot, but said it remains unclear whether or not the CD's disappearance was accidental or a theft. I suppose we'll have the answer to that question as soon as we see the unfinished version popping up all over the Internet. I'll give the thieves the weekend to get it uploaded, so start looking around online on Monday.
In related news, U2 frontman Bono was awarded the National Civil Rights Museum's annual Freedom Award on Thursday. The museum gives this award to two people annually who have invaluably contributed to the advancement of civil rights. Representative John Lewis (D-Ga.) was this year's other recipient. Past recipients include Rosa Parks and Nelson Mandela.
