Are you conflicted in your love for Foo Fighters? Do you find yourself sometimes favoring their pedal-to-the-metal riffage and other times pining for Dave Grohl and his heartfelt balladry? If that’s the case, you are in luck. For their next studio album, their fifth in total, Grohl and the rest of the Foos are planning on recording a double album, one disc featuring tunes that are plugged in and heavy and the other showcasing Grohl’s softer side. The record, the follow up to One By One from 2002, is a departure from past form also in that it will be recorded in a new studio the band are constructing in Los Angeles. The past few records from the band were completed in the ex-Nirvana drummer’s Virginia studio.
