New Donnas Album Out In Time For Halloween

On October 5, punk rock hotties The Donnas will drop the follow up to their 2002 breakout album, Spend The Night. Dubbed The Gold Medal, the new album is the band's fifth total and second for Atlantic. It was produced by Simple Plan and Avril Lavigne knob twister Butch Walker, so we can expect the hits to be flowing full stream. With some of the pressure of recording for a major label having subsided a bit, the band were able to be a little bit more explorative on The Gold Medal. "On our last record we were trying to prove we were a rock band and that no one had us put together," Donna A told Rolling Stone. "We were free to explore a lot of different emotions on this one. I really feel like since we stuck to our guns on our last album, it gave us a lot of freedom this time around." A tour will likely coincide with the album's release, but nothing has been nailed down yet. We'll keep you posted.
