Jim Guthrie Plots Brief East Coast Tour

Singer/songwriter Jim Guthrie will kick off a quick east coast romp tomorrow night (August 20) at the Mercury Lounge in beautiful New York City with Sufjan Stevens and Sea Snakes. The brief tour stint comes in support of Guthrie's third solo album, Now, More Than Ever, a record in which he recruited some of his talented friends to lend a hand. Owen Pallett and Mike Olsen of the Hidden Cameras are responsible for the stunning string arrangements while The Constantines' Bry Webb contributed a bit of banjo pickin'.

I've been spending a lot of time with this CD, mostly because I'm too lazy to change the discs in my changer all that often, but I've got to say, it fits in very nicely between Badly Drawn Boy's One Plus One Is One and the new Kings Of Convenience album. I'd recommend it for a mellow evening at home or perhaps a rainy weekend afternoon. See below for the tour details.
