Live Aid DVD Details Confirmed

Warner Vision International have just confirmed the November 10 release date and contents details of the forthcoming Live Aid DVD four-disc setset. The Band Aid Trust finally agreed to auction the global rights for the contents after pirated copies were found for sale on the internet by none other than concert organizer Sir Bob Geldof. Was Bob googling himself? The pre-Christmas release is sure to make many a wishlist this holiday season.

As reported on Xfm Online, the DVD set will contain all the performances from the 1985 festival held in London and Philadelphia, as well as, bonus footage from Sydney and Holland, Michael Buerk's historic report from Ethiopia and the videos for Band Aid's "Do They Know It's Christmas?", USA For Africa's "We Are The World" and David Bowie and Mick Jagger's "Dancing In The Streets".

Noticably missing from the performances will be the Led Zeppelin reunion featuring members Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones with guest drummers Phil Collins and the late Tony Thompson. Led Zep were unsatisfied with their performances, which featured a haggered Collins on drums, and vetoed their inclusion. The band have agreed instead to contribute proceeds from their own upcoming DVD package to the cause.
