Though details are not exactly plentiful at the moment, we can reveal that the long-awaited Nirvana box set will finally see the light of day this November. Billboard reports that limited editions of the three-CD set will also include a DVD that features footage of Nirvana playing a 1987 house party, amongst other fun tidbits.
You may recall that this box set was initially slated to coincide with the band's 10-year anniversary in 2001, but the lovely and talented and legally-troubled Courtney Love objected to the inclusion of the unreleased track "You Know You're Right". There was a bit of a war of words in the press between ex-Nirvana members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic and Love at the time, which I recall was quite entertaining. But alas, the fun had to end sometime and the dispute was eventually settled, leading to the inclusion of the track on the platinum-selling, self-titled Nirvana compilation that hit shelves in October of '02.
We will let you know as soon as a track listing and/or an official release date for the forthcoming Nirvana box set become available. Until then, speculate away about which tracks will be included.
