Playing together as a band since high school, The Features are one of those bands that have seemingly come from nowhere, but in actuality, have more than paid their dues. Beginning their careers as a garage/cover band in the small town of Sparta, TN, The Features quickly developed their own musical direction and upon graduation, began college at Middle Tennessee State University, a school with a world-class Recording Industry program giving students access to professional quality recording studios 24 hours a day. It was here where The Features honed their sound, established themselves in a thriving indie rock scene, released a debut album on small Murfreesboro, Tennessee-based Spongebath Records and eventually quit school to focus on music full time. While that may have ticked off their parents, as it turns out, it was the best decision the band could have made. They re-located their home base to Nashville and began attracting substantial attention from the local industry types. Now, armed with a major label record deal, The Features are releasing their major label debut in the form of a 13-song explosion known as Exhibit A. Leading off with the title track, the album quickly gives the listener the taste of good things to come. The driving force throughout the record is vocalist Matt Pelham's unique vocal energy, but the glue that holds it all together is the keyboard work of Parrish Yaw. Not quite definable as a garage band, not quite an arena rock band, The Features have a style and an enthusiasm all their own. Expect to nod your head, clap along and have a genuinely good time listening to this record. Think of happy summer days and good times with old friends and The Features will be your soundtrack.
