It could mean the joining of two forces nearly too powerful for mankind to handle. Oasis harnessing the power of The Beatles could cause earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, or at least the creation of one amazing song. Oasis is currently in the process of seeking the drumming skills of Ringo Starr to record one track on their upcoming album. Zak Starkey, son of Starr, is currently filling in as interim drummer for Oasis. It just happens that his famous father lives in Los Angeles, where the new album is being recorded. Noel Gallagher told XFM, “So we’re gonna try and get him (Starr) on cos we’ve got this one song which is quite… well, f*cking funnily enough, it sounds like The Beatles, and we’re gonna try and get him and his dad on the same track. Then again Ringo might just tell us to f*ck off." An Oasis song sounding like The Beatles? Shocking.
As previously mentioned on The Tripwire, the tentative release date for the new Oasis album is May 26, 2005. The band will have a world tour begin around the release, which will be their first full tour since July 2002. Eight months and counting.
