The good vibes in the UK music scene just never end. Brett and Bernard from Suede working together. Graham joining his old band Blur. Ian and Mani from the Roses on stage. Now we hear from our boy Matt Everitt at XFM that the new version of 1984 classic "Do They Know It’s Christmas?" has two of the UK's arch rivals working together. Noel Gallagher from Oasis and Damon Albarn from Blur are burying the hatchet and are confirmed by original co-writer and current Band Aid executive producer Midge Ure to the project. The hugfest news will hopefully sway others who have been approached like Coldplay, Travis, The Darkness, Robbie Williams, Keane, Dido and Jamelia to commit to the new re-recording of the Band Aid hit. For weeks, rumors have been circulating which current acts (the third time the single has been released) will be included and bookies were already making it odds-on favorite to top the Christmas charts before the single's release was confirmed. Band Aid III will be happening in an undisclosed London studio sometime in the next few weeks with Radiohead, Beck and Travis producer Nigel Godrich behind the boards.
Midge also explained that he intends to get then über-mulleted Bono from U2 to re-sing his line "Well tonight, thank God it's them, instead of you…" from the original 1984 version of the song.
