Here We Go Again... RIAA Files Another Round Of Lawsuits

After taking a few weeks off, The Recording Industry Association Of America filed 750 more lawsuits against file sharers yesterday (10/28), bringing their grand total for the year up to 6,504. The new round of suites, including 25 college kids on 13 different university campuses, utilize the "John Doe" litigation process. Used in all nine rounds of previous legal filings, "John Doe" allows the RIAA to sue defendants whose names are unknown at the time of filing.

According to Billboard, an additional 213 suites were filed against named offenders who had been previously identified through litigation but ignored or declined the RIAA's settlement offers.
