Sub Pop darlings The Shins are nothing short of being considered on fire at the moment. Their sophomore album, "Chutes Too Narrow," has quickly become one of the label's top-selling releases of the past decade. They peaked at No. 5 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart and have shifted more than 225,000 copies in the United States. Take that David Cross.
With all the success of the album the band is more that thrilled and not just resting on their laurels. Final plans for the year include an appearance Friday (Nov. 5) on ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and Sunday (Nov. 7) as part of the All Tomorrow's Parties festival outside of Los Angeles. They plan on kicking off a short tour of Japan and Australia in late January.
As for the next full length, plan to wait about a year. Until then, you can enjoy their contribution to the new Spongebob Squarepants movie soundtrack that is out November 9.
