The holiday season is right around the corner and you know what that means. Whether you celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, or nothing at all, the time has come for shopping, cooler weather, and the annual KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas. This year marks the 15th edition of the holiday concert.
The line up is a little more diverse than last year. The event is spanning two days, as usual, on December 11th and 12th at Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles. Day one looks to be very promising as KROQ has roped in a list of 2004’s who’s who of
music including Franz Ferdinand, Interpol, Modest Mouse, Snow Patrol, The Shins, and Keane. Other bands that might grace us with their presence include The Killers, Muse, Jimmy Eat World and The Music. Sunday’s lineup is catering to a different crowd including performances by Chevelle, Green Day, Velvet Revolver, Good Charolette, Hoobastank, Incubus, Papa Roach, Sum 41, My
Chemical Romance, Social Distortion, and The Used.
Both nights are benefiting a different charity. Saturday’s proceeds will go to the Al Wooten Jr. Heritage Center, which provides a safe learning environment for Los Angeles’ area youth. Sunday’s proceeds are going to Para Los Ninos, a center created for raising at risk children out of poverty and providing them with a brighter future.
Too cheap or far away to participate in the festivities? KROQ will be providing a webcast through their website to see the show live.
