Reaffirming that they have their finger on the pulse, Dakine have enlisted a fresh batch of great new talent to their DK Music family. Leading the charge is Sub Pop buzzzzzzz band Rogue Wave, who has been at the tip of everyone's tongue since releasing their debut album, Out Of The Shadow, this summer. Other new additions include Oregon-based indie rockers The Helio Sequence, Los Angeles' singer/songwriter-based lush indie poppers Earlimart, the Mark Goodman-fronted rock outfit Magnet, LSD stain-named electronica dream pop masterminds West Indian Girl and UK psych rock sensations The Music.
DK Music, for those that don't know, is a relatively new addition to the Dakine website. For all of the DK sponsored artists, which include Interpol, Death Cab For Cutie, Pretty Girls Make Graves, Metric, and tons more, DK Music provides visitors to Dakine.com a review of the artists' albums, links to either MP3 song downloads or audio streams and a list of that particular artist's favorite Dakine gear.
It's a great tool, especially for indie bands, because Dakine provides them with all the gear they need for carrying around their belongings on tour and acts as a middle man for snow/skate sport fans looking to discover the next big thing in music. It truly blends the music with the lifestyle in a win win win situation for Dakine, the bands, and the public. Check it out if you haven't already and labels, it's worth looking into. Email me if you're interested in getting some of your bands hooked up with DK Music and I'll point you in the right direction.
