It seems like you can’t turn around without seeing something new about Rilo Kiley in the news. They just finished up their tour supporting their latest album, More Adventurous and front woman Jenny Lewis is already working on her new yet-to-be-titled solo debut album. The new album will be released by Bright Eyes’ Conor Oberst’s new Team Love label.
"Four days after we got back [from touring], I made this record in six days with [producer] Mike Mogis," Lewis tells Billboard.com. "It's a kind of soul record. I'm really excited about it." According to a Team Love spokesperson, the set will likely arrive in the summer of 2005, as the fifth or sixth release on the imprint.
In the meantime, team Rilo Kiley is heading out to tour Europe and Japan with Bright Eyes in early 2005. Plans are also in the works for Coachella and Bonaroo appearances as well. "Then, hopefully my record will come out and I'll tour with that before the year is over," Lewis continues to tell Billboard. "It's a lot but it's good. I get a little antsy when I have too much time off."
Lewis will also appear on Ben Lee's New West debut, Awake Is the New Sleep due February 22.
