Miami

The Go Find is the moniker used by Antwerp, Belgium-based one-man band Dieter Sermeus. The latest signing to German-based Morr Music, The Go Find make beautiful, chilled out electro pop songs that, like Marvin Gaye or Al Green, set the perfect mood for a love making extravaganza complete with Pam/Tommy-style sex swing and assorted sensual oils and lotions. Like label-mate Styrofoam, The Go Find weave a lush electronic thread throughout their music, creating a complex tapestry with layers upon layers of sounds to wrap your head around. That similarity is not surprising, considering Arne van Petegem (a.k.a. Styrofoam) and Sermeus are close friends and frequent collaborators. The fact that Petegem produced the album might have something to do with it as well. From one song to the next, common elements create a seemingly continuous musical flow that link each track on Miami together. Though they all share common themes, stand out tracks include "Summer Guest", "Over The Edge" and "Igloo". Dieter Sermeus says the ideal place to listen to his music is in the car at night and I tend to agree. Though, if you don't have a car, don't let that stop you from picking up this record. It's pretty good on a home stereo or through iPod ear buds as well. Fans of Erasure, The Human League, Soft Cell, The Postal Service, and of course, Styrofoam, look no further. The Go Find have found you.
