Sub City Records and Take Action! have joined forces with VolunteerMatch to help provide their fans with places in their community to volunteer. VolunteerMatch is a nonprofit organization with a variety of online services to help pair companies and individuals with volunteer opportunities in virtually every zip code in the nation. Last year alone, VolunteerMatch's database recorded over 1.5 million users. This new partnership continues Sub City Records' commitment to charity and community involvement.
“One of our goals with Take Action! and Sub City is to provide information and tools to empower people to make positive choices," said Louis Posen, president and founder of Sub City Records and Take Action. "We were seeking and so extremely excited to find an organization like VolunteerMatch which gives people an easy-to-use tool to find opportunities to make a difference in whichever area one is passionate. With the volunteer match searching capability on the Sub City and Take Action websites we can finally provide an answer to ‘I want to make a difference but I don't know where and how.”
Sub City Records was created by Hopeless Records to help raise funding and awareness for nonprofit organizations. They do so by donating a portion of every CD sale to an organization of each of their artist's choosing. In the five years that the label has been in existence, they have raised over $470,000 for 23 different charities.
