Tired of the warm & fuzzy film critic, filled with kind words and cheesy antidotes? Henry Rollins is ready to kick down the door and give movie reviews a punch in the face. According to the New York Daily News, Rollins is kicking off “Henry’s Film Corner” on the Independent Film Channel, which will debut this Saturday. Rollins will discuss a variety of topics ranging from DVD reviews to celebrity interviews, but his show will also include a segment for him to unleash his angry wrath. “Rollins’ Revenge” will take a look into political and social issues in films. No film is now safe from the self-proclaimed angry man’s highly opinionated fury.
About his show, the Black Flag frontman said: " I love big blow-'em-up films. Yet I want to say to young people, 'Sure, go watch all your action films, get yer ya-yas out. But leave time for Cool Hand Luke and The Godfather. If it's junk into your mind, then it's junk out. If all kids do is watch Dumb and Dumber, then they, too, will be dumb and dumber."
This show is definitely a must watch, so make sure to have your Tivo set for this Saturday night. He is giving films a fair shake, but if a film sucks, there will be no holding back. Rollins concluded: “Reviewing can be an art, and if Hollywood listens to the right critics, maybe their films can be better. I'm approaching my show as a guy who loves movies. As a fan, I'll respect a film enough to care when if it's bad. But if a film angers me, I'll torch it."
