Elvis Costello Releases New DVDs, Tour And EP

Elvis Costello has officially added himself to the list of musicians that are working like elves during the holidays and not resting on the sofa. As previously reported, Costello was nominated for three Grammy’s last week including best rock album for The Delivery Man, best rock performance by a duo our group with vocal for "Monkey to Man" and best male pop vocal performance for "De-Lovely”. Elvis has a variety of projects in the pipeline including a 10” vinyl EP of previously unreleased recordings, two DVDs and a 2005 tour. Be sure and take notes. There might be a quiz at the end.

Billboard reports that first up is the seven-song vinyl release The Clarksdale Sessions, due January 25 via Lost Highway. The set chronicles a rehearsal session for Costello's latest album with the Imposters, The Delivery Man, captured on tape at a one-room recording studio in Clarksdale, Mississippi. An alternate version of “Monkey To Man” will be included on the EP called "The Monkey" along with "Country Darkness", “In Another Room”, "Needle Time", "The Scarlet Tide", and the title song, "Sessions". The title track covers the Chips Moman/Dan Penn composition “Dark End of the Street”. This is in addition to the recently released live-in-studio on iTunes known as The Futurama Sessions.

Confused yet? If that wasn’t enough, The Right Spectacle DVD, a collection of music videos and TV performances is set to land on January 17 in the UK via Demon. No word yet on a US date, but March will bring a live DVD via Eagle Rock Entertainment that was taped from a small club show in the US this summer.
