Toilet Paper Refused By The Beatles Now On eBay

Looking for a late Christmas present for that person who has everything? If they happen to be a Beatles fan, you might be in luck. A roll of toilet paper from the legendary studio Abbey Road is now up for grabs on eBay. This magical roll of buttwipe is said to have been at the studio around the time the Fab Four would have been using the facilities. It was purchased at an auction held at the studio back in October 1980, and has been kept in a glass box ever since.

What makes this roll special is that it was supposedly rejected by the band. Former Abbey Road General Manager Ken Townsend told XFM: “Most things went very smoothly with The Beatles at Abbey Road - but not this roll of toilet paper which they complained was too hard and shiny.” Well, can you blame them? Nobody likes to use the rough stuff on their bum, and I am sure Ringo’s tush required the delicate touch of some soothing two-ply Quilted Northern.

The kicker was that the staff was required to stamp each sheet of toilet paper with EMI Ltd. The rejected paper comes with a certificate of authenticity issued by Townsend, and is even mentioned in the official book on the history of the studio. If you would like to own this piece of Beatles “history”, the bidding begins at £40,000. Man, that would look so great on your mantel. To see this item in all of its glory, click here.
