Burton, Motorola Team Up To Make Space Age Snowboarding Gear

By this time next year, snowboarders will be racing down the slopes, switching between their latest iPod mix and incoming phone calls thanks to a new partnership between Burton and Motorola. Yesterday at the 2005 Consumer Electronics Show, the two companies unveiled Bluetooth-enabled jackets, helmets and beanies that will provide wireless connectivity and playability to consumers. Just imagine it. You’re racing down the slopes listening to the latest release from Fat Wreck Chords, busting a gnarly trick when, “RING RING RING”… AHHHHHHH! WIIIIIIIIPE OUT! Just kidding, this shit sounds awesome. My Burton iPod jacket is probably the coolest piece of gear I own, and adding the ability to wirelessly access my cell phone while on the move (especially in the snot-freezing cold of the bitter Chicago winter) would be a godsend. According to Mi2n.com, the new gear should be available for the winter 2006 season. Start saving up now.
