You know the old saying, “which comes first, the chicken or the egg?” Well, in Weezer’s case it would be “which comes first, the album or the single?” Geffen Records has announced that the first single from the upcoming, untitled, uncompleted Weezer record will be “Beverly Hills”. According to MTV, frontman Rivers Cuomo was supposed to put the finishing touches on the record while on break from Harvard, but the band’s management claims the album is still incomplete.
From a posting on their official site, the band said: “Still nothing to announce in terms of album completion, album release, touring, etc., but rest assured the right people are doing their work on this stuff and doing it well. Things are still on track for action somewhere in spring of the new year."
The only other info that the band is coughing up is the announcement of drummer Patrick Wilson’s new baby boy. His son was born on November 30th, and has posted pictures on his side project’s website. Hopefully Weezer will give birth to their new album later on in 2005.
