On Jan 17 (next Monday) at the Wiltern Theatre, Tenacious D will host a benefit concert to raise funds for Tsunami victims. A whole slew of big names are onboard to rock out for a good cause, including Beck, Dave Grohl, Eddie Vedder, and Josh Homme. In addition, the Anchorman himself, Will Ferrell, will make an appearance that will be funny. We're not really sure exactly what he's going to do, but I think it's safe to say that whatever it is, it will be worth the price of admission. Speaking of... tickets for the event are on sale for either $60 or $100.
According to Billboard, the show is being organized by the new collective Music For Relief. Proceeds will go to the American Red Cross.
In related news, The D will begin shooting on their first feature film, Tenacious D In The Pick Of Destiny, this spring. If anyone saw the short films the band showed during their last major tour, you'll know that we're in for quite an experience. I'd leave the kids at home.
