Which Way You Swing?

Toss out yr old Red Hot Chili Peppers records (or at least that extra stinky one with David Navarro), 'cause the real kings of punk funk, the Big Boys, are getting thrust back into the spotlight - the one that exists in my mindgarden, at least - with a hefty 2xLP reissue of their two classic albums Lullabies Help The Brain Grow and No Matter How Long The Line Is At The Cafeteria, There's Always A Seat on X-Mist Records.

Sure, they had a few tiffs with the Bad Brains 'cause they were a whole group of out and proud, funky-ass bears with the balls to cover "Hollywood Swingin'" and actually pull it off with Kool and the Gang-approved panache. But regardless - this Texas crew's blend of funked-up thrash and down home enthusiasm will have you grooving, dude-lovers and non dude-lovers alike.
