If the name Emiliana Torrini doesn’t ring a bell, it should. For starters, she is a brilliant singer/songwriter. Her music is an amazing blend of her Icelandic and Italian decent. Torrini made waves when released her 2000 CD Love In The Time Of Science, which was produced by Tears For Fears’ Roland Orzabal. Rough Trade has recently released her latest album in the UK, titled Fisherman’s Woman. Her latest single “Sunny Road” will be released on Valentine’s Day, which will feature remixes by Manasseh and Atom Tm. In other Torrini news, she (along with her songwriting partner Mr. Dan) was nominated for a Grammy. The award nomination is for her production work on Kylie Minogue’s “Slow”, which she also co-wrote. Although she is heading out in March for a full UK tour, no word of a US tour has been mentioned yet.
