It is a known fact that Morrissey fans are a bit obsessed. I fall into that category myself. According to XFM, a group of fans from Moz’s home of Manchester have started a “Bring Back Mozza” campaign. Their mission is simply to convince him to move back to Manchester. He has spent the last eight years living in sunny Los Angeles, so these fans better have a damn good argument.
Organizer Carl McDonald told the Manchester Evening News: “We were talking about the wonderful changes in recent times in Manchester and how the one thing missing from the city is it's most famous and most talented son. We discussed ways of tempting him home, such as promising to force all butcher's shops in a five mile radius of his home to close down. But we settled on the Internet petition idea so that fans from all over the world could join in and help to end this terrible situation."
"There's no point in trying to hide from the truth,” he continued. “It is up to the people of Manchester to get online to sign the petition and let Morrissey know that we miss him and need him to make the city complete."
Although it is doubtful that an online petition will convince Morrissey to return, you must applaud this group of fans for trying, If you would like to help their cause, feel free to sign the petition by clicking here. Don’t forget that his CD Live At Earl’s Court and DVD Who Put The ‘M’ In Manchester will hit stores on March 22.
