Sleater-Kinney Head Into The Woods

Sleater-Kinney’s debut on Sub Pop is on its way. The Dave Fridmann produced record, titled The Woods, will be landing in your favorite record shops on May 24. About the new record, guitarist/vocalist Corin Tucker told Billboard: “The songs we've written are really heavy. We want them to have an organic feel that is simplistic and yet sophisticated at the same time."

Does this mean the group is embarking in a new direction? Tucker added: “There's actually a space jam in between two of the songs." I would take that as a yes. To get a sneak peek at the new tunes, make sure to catch their performance at this year’s SXSW Music Festival. As an appetizer, here is the track listing for the upcoming release:

“The Fox”
“What’s Mine Is Yours”
“Modern Girl”
“Steep Air”
“Let’s Call It Love”
“Night Light”
