On April 26, music legends New Order will release their eighth studio album. Called Waiting For The Sirens' Call, the album is the long awaited follow-up to 2001's Get Ready. Producer Tore Johansson (Franz Ferdinand, The Cardigans) is manning the board for this release, which group member Bernard Sumner calls "pretty rock-y". Speaking on the band's website, Sumner cites the reason for their shift to a more guitar-based sound saying, "Reason being, we don't really go out to clubs anymore. We don't own a club anymore. And in order to be a part of that kind of music, you have to be involved in it."
To promote their new release, New Order will be taking part in the fun at this year's Coachella Festival on May 1, with a spring US tour to follow. We'll let you know as soon as we hear details.
