We are getting closer by the day to the release of the debut record from The Tears. Britpop fans from Lawrence, Kansas to London, England are salivating in anticipation of this release. This marks the first record by the reunited Suede songwriting partnership of Brett Anderson and Bernard Butler. According to NME, the new album will be titled Here Come The Tears and will hit stores in the UK on April 18. Tracks rumored to be on the record include “Apollo 13”, “Imperfection”, “Ghost Of You”, “Two Creatures”, “Fallen Idol”, “Co-Star”, and “Brave New Century”.
In discussing the reunion with his former bandmate, Anderson said: “For years and years after Bernard left Suede it was me running the show, but now the stakes are raised. I feel like we are dueling with each other, in some kind of friendly competition. When we were at our best it was always like that, each trying to better each other.”
The first single, “Refugees”, has already made the rounds on London radio. MP3s of the track are floating around on various websites, and it is everything Suede fans hoped it would be.
