M.I.A. Album Finally Gets Official Release Date

After being pushed back a bit, the debut album from rising star M.I.A. has finally been given an official release date from XL Recordings. Titled Arular, the album will hit shelves domestically on March 22, with the UK release falling shortly afterward on April 25. M.I.A. (aka Maya Arulpragasam) has quickly become one of the most talked about artists on both sides of the Atlantic, with everyone from Rolling Stone to NME singing her praises and calling Arular things like, "One of the year's most remarkable albums." For you industry types who are headed down to Austin, Winter Music Conference and/or Coachella, you'll have ample opportunity to see what the buzz is all about, as the former FADER cover girl will be performing at all three events. A full US tour is currently being planned. We'll give you a heads up on that as soon as we have the details.
