Bob Mould has announced the release date for his next solo record. On July 26, the former leader of Husker Du and Sugar will release Body Of Song on Yep Roc. Billboard reports that the new material will be acoustic-based, but will be more rock-oriented than 2002’s Modulate.
Mould commented on his blog: Nothing like a deadline to get me to finish something that has been dragging on for far too long. Well, I shouldn't put it that way; that makes it sound a little mechanical. I am shocked at the patience I showed in this whole process -- there simply wasn't a full album's worth of quality material. Or, more accurately put, there wasn't an album of material which sounded like a coherent statement."
Mould’s latest musical offering to the world happened when he teamed up with Interpol drummer Sam Fogarino. The two worked on a remix of Interpol’s “Length Of Love”, although a commercial release for the track has yet to be determined.
