Although you are supposed to learn from other people's mistakes, some bands must not pay attention. After The Edge lost a CD containing U2’s latest record prior to its release, you'd think that bands would keep their unreleased new tunes under lock and key. This time it happened to Dublin’s The Thrills. The band’s guitarist Daniel Ryan had his laptop stolen last Friday, which happened to contain some brand new material.
Ryan told NME: “Before we actually got to the gig I had my travel bag stolen. I left my bag in my friend's car but when we went back to the car to come down to the event, the window had been smashed and my bag had been taken. My laptop - which I'd only bought recently, all my CDs, my DVDs, books, my discman and a photograph album have all been taken. I'm really upset about it."
About the contents of the laptop, Ryan said: “The computer has new material that we've been working on - we always have little bits of music and things like that on our computers and I'm lost without mine. If anyone can help us get it back it would be really appreciated."
The band is offering a reward for the return of Ryan’s laptop and other assorted items.
