Lollapalooza Lives On… Sort Of…

We were all psyched for 2004’s Lollapalooza. Even yours truly, who is not a fan of outdoor music festivals in the slightest, had planned on attending. With Morrissey, Wilco, The Pixies, Flaming Lips and Sonic Youth on the tour, we were shocked to see the whole thing crumble. Thanks to sluggish ticket sales the festival was axed, making alternative rock fans weep from coast to coast. Lollapalooza has been reborn this year as a one-off concert in Chicago’s Grant Park. According to Billboard the festival will take place on July 23rd and 24th. Beck, The Killers, Kings Of Leon and Widespread Panic are among the bands rumored to possibly appear on the bill. The official festival website will relaunch on Friday, which just happens to be April Fool’s Day. Interesting. The official lineup will be announced at the end of April.
