Live At Earls Court

Last night I dreamt that somebody loved me. Call me biased, but when it comes to Morrissey all the man would have to do is stand behind a microphone and stare blankly into the audience and I would think it was musical genius. What has been said about the man that has not been said before? What I can tell you is that I was so pleasantly surprised with his live album that I can't stop listening to it. (Match that with the new live DVD, Who Put The M In Manchester? and you have a winning combination) Normally I am not one for live albums, the sound not being much to listen to and all, but in the case of Moz's new one Live At Earls Court all my thoughts of that nature were quickly diminished. The album was recorded over the five final sold out dates in London, Glasgow, Birmingham, Brighton, and Dublin last December. The CD features eighteen tracks that span the best of The Smiths and the newest from Morrissey. Highlights include "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out", "Redondo Beach", "Bigmouth Strikes Again", and "I Have Forgiven Jesus". One of the best things about the live album (and shows from last year I might add) is that the man can still carry a tune, captivate a crowd, and looks pretty damn good for a man of his age. In addition to all of the above, the album was taken straight from the shows, no overdubs. Mighty impressive Moz, you continue to win us over time and time again.
