The revolving cast members of rock group Queens Of The Stone Age has changed again, as Mark Lanegan has decided to not take part in the US tour. The former Screaming Trees frontman was rumored to have left QOTSA when former bass player Nick Oliveri was given the boot. Then he magically appeared on the opening track to Lullabies To Paralyze, and even stayed on for European and US tour dates. Although rumors are swirling about a possible fight between Lanegan and Queens frontman Josh Homme, a statement on their official website claims exhaustion. Judge for yourself:
“Mark Lanegan is taking a brief sabbatical from the ongoing Queens tour due to exhaustion. The band would like to wish a speedy recovery, so that he can return back to the touring Queens circus ASAP. Josh and Mark have already been in discussions to figure out when Mark will be able to return.
“And finally the band stresses that all other rumours regarding this subject should be written down, burned and pushed into your eyes so that you are unable to find your watercooler / sewing circle. Thank you, the Duchess Of Insider.”
