Striving to become rock & roll overachieves, Snow Patrol are looking to write fifty songs for their next album. According to NME, the band is already a little more than halfway there, with twenty-five to thirty already written. Their goal is to hit the fifty mark before they even step into the studio to begin recording.
So why fifty? Frontman Gary Lightbody explained: “The last time we made an album we were so rushed and we only had 14 songs, 12 of which ended up on the album so it was not the best way of going about things.” Now that the band has a little more cash in their pockets, they plan on taking their sweet-ass time until their next release.
So what should we expect from Snow Patrol’s next musical adventure? Lightbody said that the tracks are quite diverse. He added: “‘It’s Beginning to Get to Me’ is kind of a rolling rock song. ‘Chasing Cars’ is sort of an upbeat, anthemic, giant song, and ’Your Halo’ is a good old-fashioned rock & roll stomp.” Yee Haw!
