The Pixies Unplug At Newport Folk Festival

Kings of the two-year reunion tour, The Pixies, have just signed on for the 2005 Dunkin' Donuts Newport Folk Festival. Yes, you read that right... the legendary folk festival where Bob Dylan went electric and made rock & roll history, an American Institution, is now brought to you by unhealthy pieces of sugar coated dough and reasonably priced want-to-be-gourmet coffee drinks. Awesome. Blinded by a lifetime supply of chocolate eclairs and assorted flavored munchkins, Pixies front man Frank Black unwittingly agreed for his band to not only play the festival, but to unplug for the first time in their long career. Just kidding about that donut thing... jeeze. Anyway, The Pixies will play their history-making unplugged performance on Saturday, August 6th, where they'll headline the Dunkin' Donuts stage. Other artists on the bill for that night include Ray LaMontagne, Patty Griffin and banjo master Bela Fleck. For more info on the Dunkin' Donuts Newport Folk Festival, go here. Be honest, you're craving a donut right now, aren't you?
