NYC garage rock revivalists The Strokes have finished recording the follow up to 2003's Room On Fire and according to Rolling Stone, they're currently mixing the fruits of their labor with Andy Wallace (Nirvana, Prince, Jeff Buckley) in New York. An album title and artwork are currently escaping frontman Julian Casablancas, but the yet-to-be-titled album isn't due out in stores until January, so he has some time to figure it out. A huge worldwide tour is in the works following the release as well. Casablancas told RS that band was a little road-weary going into the Room On Fire tour, but he says, "Now I think we're ready for fatal touring again -- to go all out. We got our energy back." Stay tuned for more Strokes news. I'm sure they'll be playing some cool warm up shows around NYC in the coming months. Also, keep an ear peeled for a the first single to drop sometime this fall. We'll keep ya posted.
