Screamadelica Artist Commits Suicide

Iconic album covers have become few and far between. Many bands now consider album art an afterthought, which is a damn shame. Few records have stood out visually (and musically) as much as Primal Scream’s Screamadelica, which featured the artwork of Paul Cannell. Sadly, Drowned In Sound has reported that the artist and musician recently committed suicide.

The artist was living in Cornwall, continuing to make music as well as art for his music. Cannell’s artwork was also found on the covers of Manic Street Preachers’ You Love Us as well as Heavenly Records’ bird logo. Paul Cannell also a member of the band Crawl, which released a single on Creation in 1996.
