Rock music lost three talented musicians last Thursday afternoon. Michael Dahlquist, drummer for the indie rock band Silkworm, along with guitarist and vocalist John Glick of The Returnables and drummer Douglas Meis of The Dials were killed in a car crash in Chicago.
All three men lost their lives instantly when a twenty-three year old woman rammed their car. She was apparently suicidal following a fight with her mother and slammed into the musicians’ car from behind at approximately seventy miles per hour. Two others were injured at the scene, while the suicidal driver is now listed in fair condition.
In an interview with the Chicago Tribune, Tim Midgett said that Silkworm would cease to exist as a band. He said that Dahlquist could not be replaced.
