Bloc Party Announce Remix CD, North American Tour

What do you do when you're a brand new band who has released one of the most celebrated albums of the year? Simple, you get a bunch of your new rock star friends together and ask them to put their own spin on one of your songs. Well that's exactly what Bloc Party did, at least. Silent Alarm Remixed is a track-by-track remix of Bloc Party's Mercury Prize-nominated debut album featuring contributions from some of coolest kids in school, namely Ladytron, Whitey, Jason Clark of Pretty Girls Make Graves, M83, Four Tet, Mogwai and more. Not since Astralwerks did the remix album for The Faint's Danse Macabre, has one of these records looked so promising. That said, Silent Alarm Remixed will be making its way to store shelves on September 30 via Vice Records.

Not coincidentally, Bloc Party will be returning to the states for a major market ballroom/theater tour just in time for the remix album's release. The tour will kick off at the Avalon Ballroom in Boston on September 8 and stretch through September 26 at the Tabernacle in Atlanta. Along the way, Bloc Party will be taking part in a KBZT radio show in San Diego, as well as the Austin City Limits festival. A support act has yet to be announced, but we'll let you know.
