Last night was the launch party for the Marley family’s Tuff Gong Clothing line, and it brought out Stephen, Ziggy and our cover star Damian for an incredible, rare performance together.
J. Period manned the decks for the entire evening, going from new roots 45s to uptempo dancehall party joints to his own sick Lauryn Hill remixes, but it was the party-closing set by all three Marley brothers that brought the house down. Aided by a truly sick backing band (wah solos like woah!), the bros paid tribute to their dad’s classics for almost an hour, but the highlight was Damian’s mid-set performance of “Welcome To Jamrock” – the band even did a live rewind!
Out in the streets, we call that an amazing party – one the FADER magazine was proud to have been a part of.
