Indie Rap Vs Internets, Part Deux
- story THE FADER
We’re only one song deep in the new Atmosphere record (whuttup underground hips-hops?!) and it’s kinna bangin. Slug has a great voice and Ant’s almost on some Just Blaze shit here. But then – wait, what? A woman’s voice quietly says our name in the background. Not like “FADER Magazine” or like the weird blips of a watermark, but like our name as in our actual name as in the one on our driver’s license. She almost says it on beat too. Slug’s girl with a stack of CD-Rs in the studio? A Rhymesayers intern with a computer mic? Scary? Awesome? Both?
