Week In/Out

Big week for live-ness on ye olde FADER dotcom, kicking off with MIA snaps-n-recaps, rolling into PS1 beachballs and Child Balladeers, and ending with two massive missives from Oslo’s Oya Festival (where that baby came from, in case you were wondering.) We also managed to shout out our own grime events this weekend.

Speaking of Friday through Sunday, are grimey future sounds of today a likkle outside your wheelhouse? Other NY nighttime activities include hip-hop pioneer Lovebug Starski and DJ Lindsey (Negroclash) at PS1 on Saturday – yes, we constantly talk up PS1, but it’s cuz they’re killing shit right now. Recover on Sunday, or burn one at Summerstage with Barrington Levy if you’re really real. Out in LA, the Echo hosts Dim Mak-ers Dance Disaster Movement; Saturday, the Ponys get loud and woozy in the same spot. Closer to the Redwoods, Cut Chemist returns to Frisco, abusing decks at the Independent (same spot where he recorded the famed Live At The Future Primitive Soundsession Vol.1). Now get busy!
