Week In/Out
- story THE FADER
A fortune cookie once told us that real recognizes real. This would be a handy caption for Saturday’s meeting of old and new, when Hollertronix party rocker Low Budget joins ex-Main Source maestro Large Professor to break a sweat at Sweat at 6s & 8s in the LES. If beats and rhymes aren’t your thing, well, we feel sorry for you. But that doesn’t mean we’re abandoning you either! Torn stockings and black lipstick and other signifiers of gothy ennui will be in effect when the Chromatics play in the wilds of BKNY, at a newish venue called Summercamp – info here.
San Fran peoples can get dilated to the earth tone grooves of Sunburned Hand of the Man and the battery acid barks of Magik Markers (pictured above) this Sunday at the Bottom of the Hill. Noise. It’s what’s for dinner!
Last but not least, our Chi-City affiliates can edutain themselves with We Jam Econo, a fantastic documentary about one of the great American bands ever, the Minutemen. It’s playing all weekend at the Gene Siskel Film Centre. Do you want New Wave, or do you want the truth!?
