Happy Mondays To Finally Release New Material

It has been thirteen years since we have heard brand new material from the Happy Mondays. Well, that wait is just about over. The group has recorded a new song, “Playground Superstar,” which will appear on the Goal! movie soundtrack. It will also be released as a single, which will hit stores in the UK on October 17th. This marks the first material that the Happy Mondays have released since 1992’s Yes Please.

The soundtrack will definitely be worth the price of an import, especially for fans of Oasis. The group has contributed a new track, written and performed by Noel Gallagher, called “Who Put The Weight Of The World On My Shoulders?” As if that wasn’t enough, it will also contain a previously un-released Dave Sardy mix of “Morning Glory”, as well as a re-recorded version of “Cast No Shadow” mixed by UNKLE.
